Shut down the operating system on your laptop correctly and wait until it turns off automatically. Turn off the power to the computer and all peripheral devices connected to it. Remove the battery. Use a screwdriver to pry up the false panel covering the additional keyboard board. Carefully release the latches and remove this false panel.

See if the laptop's power button is on the same board with additional keys. Even if this turns out to be the case, see if any separate cable is used to connect this button. If there is such a cable, disconnect from the computer’s motherboard the cable that goes to the auxiliary keys, and leave the one that goes to the power button in place. If the cable for the keys and the auxiliary keys are common, you cannot turn it off, and to block the latter you will have to use a hard pad.
